Who hasn’t been empted to pick up some shells when walking on the beach? What for most of us is a pastime for Linda Fenwick has become a profession.

Fenwick was born in Texas but she has been living in the Uk for the last 20 years. She admits that her passion for shells developed from a young age when she used to collect them during her family holidays at Sanibel Island (Florida)
But it wasn’t until eight years ago when Linda really thought that using her big collection as a decorative element could be a good idea. It was then when she started her ambitious garden folly for her North Yorkshire home.

The hexagonal construction was covered with Shell panels inspired by Georgian designs like wreaths and swags. It took 4 years to finish but the result was well worth the wait. When you look at the walls  you can appreciate the work and dedication behind every inch of them. The Shell House has become the perfect place to entertain, spend family time or simply relax.

She soon got enquiries to create similar pictures and mirror frames, adorned storm lanterns and shell rooms, including decorating the interior of a loggia at Skipwith Hall. The business has grown gradually by word of mouth.
Linda adapts her designs to the needs of the object or space creating unique pieces that bring a little of the sea to people’s homes.
