There were so many things that caught my eye when I first saw this Long Island cottage in Architectural Digest a few months ago: the wonderful pattern mix, the blend of East and West elements, the bohemian yet sophisticated look of it…and the list could go on and on!

With the help of Peter Marino and Pietro Cicognani (of New York’s Cicognani Kalla Architect)  the owners of this home, known as Woody House,  created a perfect seaside retreat which reflects their far-flung travels through Europe, India and the Middle East yet maintains the casual atmosphere of a beach-front cottage.
